What's in a name? This headphone manufacturer clearly thinks names are important: Ultimate Ears is the firm, ‘SuperFi' are the headphones. Let's hope this confidence is well founded…

Open up the box and it's a real treasure chest. There's a pair of white in-ear 'phones – black and clear versions are available – and you'll also find a padded carry-box, six different-sized ear fittings, foam set eartips, a cleaning tool and a curious cable extension seemingly designed for use aboard aeroplanes. Oh, and the manual.

Like any in-ear headphones, the design won't be for everyone, but they're as comfortable as any others we've used. Sonically, we're as happy as with any other in-ears at this price, too.

Comfort, dynamism and detail
An open, clear sound ensures Dr. Dre's in fine voice on Still D.R.E, and there's enough dynamism and detail to keep us entertained.

We wouldn't say no to a little more determination and depth to the lower frequencies, but these 'phones deliver the goods regardless – and at the same time live
up to their cocksure name.
