Japanese Grand Prix 2025: preview
Two years late, Yuki Tsunoda is finally being given a shot in the Red Bull, but it's no coincidence that Christian Horner shuffled his deck in time for the Japanese Grand Prix. This is a mess entirely of Red Bull management's own making, and hanging Lawson out to dry after two measly races shouldn't distract from that.
Despite outperforming all of his teammates bar Pierre Gasly, Tsunoda was never in the frame for the seat vacated by Checo Perez, so from Horner and advisor Helmut Marko's perspective, the hope is that the joy that greets the Japanese pocket-rocket's belated promotion eclipses the sense that two drivers have been badly mishandled.
The hope going into this season was that Oscar Piastri would challenge Lando Norris, and the Aussie delivered on his promise in Shanghai, scoring his first F1 pole and cruising to victory. While Norris appears to have taken that result in his stride, he knows that Piastri is as much a No.2 driver as he is.
The highs of Lewis Hamilton's shock Sprint victory, meanwhile, were followed by the historic lows of Ferrari's first ever double-disqualification. The Scuderia are already 61 points behind McLaren in the constructors' standings, and can't afford to concede much more ground.
Here's all the info on where to watch F1 live streams anywhere in the world for the Japanese Grand Prix.
