Why you can trust What Hi-Fi?
Now this is what we call a portable radio. One of the stalwarts of the Pure range, the One Mini is a real fisherman's friend of a radio, ideal for taking to the park or on holiday thanks to its square, compact dimensions.
Naturally it's only a mono design, but Pure has squeezed in both DAB and FM tuners plus a handy line input for connecting a portable, a headphone connection and a USB connection for future upgrades.
It's easy to use thanks to solid, responsive buttons and looks smart in gloss black – it's also available in white and pink. Pure prides itself on having some of the strongest tuners around, which means you shouldn't struggle to pick-up the full gamut of DAB and FM stations – we certainly didn't.
Sonically it's impressive, too. It sounds clear, natural and well organised, while music times well even when dealt complex tracks.
There's not a lot of bass weight, though this isn't the biggest surprise considering the size, but otherwise there's much to like in this ultra-portable Mini Pure.
Our only gripe is that the a £25 ChargePAK is required to make it properly portable, but at least this is more eco-friendly than batteries.
