The E440 video model sports a 2in high-resolution, QVGA LCD screen, is just 9.3mm thin, features Clear Stereo and Clear Bass technologies for improved sound quality and has up to 30 hours of battery life for audio (six hours for video). It's available in black or red and in 4, 8 or 16GB sizes.
File formats supported include rights-managed WMV and WMA, MP3, AAC-LC2 and linear PCM. You can drag and drop music files from your PC or iTunes using the Content Transfer software.
Users can also record directly from the built-in FM tuner.
The ultra-compact B140 Series also comes in black or red, has a USB connection for hooking up to your PC or hi-fi, offers 18 hours audio playback and a quick, three-minute charge will deliver 90 minutes listening time. It's available in 2 and 4GB sizes.
Other features on the B140 include Sony's proprietary Zappin search function, an FM tuner, bass boost and five equalizer modes. Both models will go on sale at the end of July, prices to be confirmed.
