Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced plans to release two debut BD-Live discs on 8th April following the release of Saw IV and War by Lionsgate films.
BD-live discs, which feature online and downloadable content, will need to be used in conjunction with the new Blu-ray Profile 2.0 format.
Sony recently released a free PlayStation 3 firmware update which allows users to take advantage of BD-Live functions and makes PlayStation 3 the first player to comply with Profile 2.0.
The Sony titles, the first to include exclusive cinema trailers, will also include links to special features which can only be accessed via BD-Live, rather than being included on the disc itself. Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and the dreary Arnie sci-fi flick The 6th Day will both be released on 8th April.
