SHOW EXCLUSIVES: Pure to unveil Avanti Flow DAB/internet radio iPod dock

Pure Avanti Flow

Among the highlight's will be Pure's brand-new Avanti Flow, an iPod dock with built-in DAB, FM and internet radio and using the same technology as used within its Award-winning Evoke Flow portable DAB radio.

We've already waxed lyrical about the first Evoke Flow radio, making it one of our 2008 Products of the Year, and now the second model in the 'Flow' range promises to be even more intriguing.

Avanti Flow combines a 5.25in downward firing subwoofer, two 3in midrange drivers and Pure's Clearsound technology, all housed in a piano black enclosure with integrated iPod dock.

Clearsound uses an integrated high-performance, switch-mode power supply, high quality Class D amplifiers, digital audio shaping technology and custom-tuned speakers to provide 75W RMS poweer.

In addition, the unit combines DAB digital radio reception with wi-fi technology, FM with RDS and iPod charging and playback.

Internet radio comes as standard
Users can register the Avanti Flow with Pure's online portal, www.thelounge.com, which gives access to a huge range of internet radio stations as well as 100 'Pure sounds' such as crashing waves, birdsong and a babbling brook.

Other features include Intellitext for on-demand access to DAB extended text broadcasts, textScan which lets users pause and control scrolling text, a snooze button, alarm and timer and a mains power switch on the back panel for those who don't want to leave the unit on standby.

The Pure Avanti Flow will go on sale in time for Christmas for £280. If you'd like to get an exclusive glimpse of it before it's available on the high street, then pop along to the What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Show this weekend.
