Leema Acoustics' acclaimed Xen mini-monitors have spawned an equally diminutive - but much more decorative - pair of Xero speakers aimed at space-constrained home hi-fi systems.
You wouldn't know it from this towering picture, but the new Xeros measure a mere 14x22x20.5cm (WxHxD). They claim to offer more bass than their forebears, while retaining the midrange insight and clarity for which the Xen are famed.
These characteristics are accounted for by the Xero using the same 25mm Tymphany fabric tweeter as the Xen, and a new 10cm mid-bass driver - as previously used in Leema's Xone floorstanders.
There's also a modified crossover to accommodate the new cabinet design, and a single rear-mounted port to boost bass reinforcement in the close-to-wall (and even on-wall) positions the Xeros could easily find themselves in.
As for other tech-specs, the Xeros have 6 ohm nominal impedance; 85.5dB/W/m; 55Hz-30kHz frequency response and 200W power handling. They weigh 6Kg each.
The Xeros cost £670 per pair, and are available now in birdeye maple, cherry, rosenut, ebony or black-ash real-wood finishes.
