Terminator 2: Judgment Day is one of a trio of new HD DVD titles on the way from Momentum Pictures. The movie, in which Arnie lived up to his promise to be back, is released on August 13, along with Dustin Hoffman and the late Anne Bancroft in Mike Nichols's classic The Graduate, and Nicholas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas.
The second Terminator movie is the one in which the Cyberdyne Systems 101 returns to 1991, this time to protect Sarah Connor and her son John from the shape-shifting Terminator, the T-1000. Yes, it's the big truck and bike chase! And with the future Governor of California trousering $15 million for the movie, in which he spoke a total of 700 words, "Hasta la vista, baby" cost $85,716!
Mike Nichols's The Graduate is known for its iconic scenes: Mrs Robinson seducing Benjamin, the snorkel sequence and of course the final race to stop Elaine's wedding. But it's also all about the Simon and Garfunkel soundtrack, which should sound good on HD DVD.
Finally there's Mike Figgis's Leaving Las Vegas, with a superb performance by Nicholas Cage as an alcoholic writer on an unstoppable path to self destruction.
