NEWS: Nextbase Media 22 Entertainment Centre covers all the bases

The device you see here is – pause for deep breath – the Nextbase Media 22 Entertainment Centre.

Basically, it's an iPod dock with built in DVD/CD player, TV tuner, FM radio and Bluetooth streaming for playback of music on Bluetooth mobile phones.

It costs £300 and also comes equipped with a five-driver, 2.1-channel speaker system, a 20w subwoofer, remote control and the ability to play music from USB and flash memory portable music devices.

You can view TV on the 3.5in screen, which also displays a simple, icon-driven menu system, or alternatively hook it up to your own screen using the standard Scart connection.

All the speakers and electronics are housed in a solid wooden structure, which is in turn covered in a gloss black plastic skin.

The Nextbase Media 22 supports most iPods, DiVX, Bluetooth A2DP, SD/MMC/MS card readers and JPEG/MPEG picture discs. It's distributed in the UK by BBG, and is available from www.askdirect.co.uk.
