It's due in the shops in September, and the Euro price suggests it will sell in the UK for around £5000.
The player will handle Blu-ray Disc, DVD-Video, Super Audio CD and CD, and is Profile 2.0 compliant for BD. It has pixel-by-pixel video capability, and uses Silicon Optix Realta HQV processing, delivering upscaling and de-interlacing for DVDs.
Twin HDMI outputs are provided, allowing the player to be connected to an AV processor/reciever and direct to a display at the same time, or to both a TV and a projector.
On the audio side the player uses familiar Marantz tuning strategies, including the company's latest Super Audio CD-ready Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Modules in the output section, and a copper plated chassis.
And yes, the production version will come with a lid...
