First out of the blocks is Klipsch, with its Image S4i in-ear headphones.
They include an in-line microphone and three-button remote, and are fully compatible with Apple VoiceOver, which enables the user to hear the name of the playlist, song or artist by just pressing a button.
Given that we weren't entirely taken with the Apple headphones supplied as standard with the third-gen Shuffle, this has to be good news.
Even better, the Klipsch Image S4i will also work with the new iPhone 3GS, second-generation iPod Touch, fourth-generation iPod nano and the iPod Classic 120GB.
"Designed for iPhone and iPod users, the Image S4i allows you to take calls while commuting or exercising, as well as control your music library," says Don Inmon, Klipsch director of marketing for personal audio.
Sound is delivered by a moving coil micro speaker with a dual neodymium magnet motor in each of the 8.5mm drivers.
The S4i will be arriving in the UK in August priced at £89.99, and you'll be able to buy them through Apple Stores, Amazon and the Klipsch website.
