Kaleidescape unveils 'Mini' multiroom AV system

Kaleidescape Mini

The Kaleidescape Mini integrates a multi-zone system into a single component with its own remote control. It can store up to 75 DVDs or 825 CDs, and this can be expanded by adding more disk cartridges to 225 DVDs and 2500 CDs.

Content stored on the Mini is protected by Kaleidescape's RAID-K technology and need not be re-imported if the hard disk drive fails.

The system outputs video at 1080p, and comes with two additional music zones so movies can be watched in one room, while music is replayed to other rooms in the home.

Designed for easy installation
Additional Kaleidescape Mini movie players can be added to the system, at a cost of £1695 each, and a Blu-ray player is in development.

Installation involves simply connecting the Mini system to a power socket, the internet and a TV or projector.

Once connected, you can browse all films and music stored on the system at the touch of a button, and select by title, actor, artist, director, genre, year of release or run-time.

High-resolution cover artwork is downloaded from the internet, making it even easier to select your favourite movies and music.

"Kaleidescape makes choosing a movie, TV show or album interesting and fun for the entire family," says Michael Malcolm, founder and CEO of Kaleidescape. "You no longer have the frustration of rummaging through discs to find what you want."
