Panasonic has announced five new full HD digital TVs for release this Autumn.
The new line-up sees plasma screens at 65, 58, 50 and 42-inch sizes alongside a 37in LCD (the TX-37LZD70, pictured here).
All the new Viera screens feature the latest V-Real Pro 2 signal processing, an upgrade on previous Panasonic models, and claim a 10,000:1 contrast ratio as well as the 1920 x 1080 resolution.
The screens also feature Panasonic’s take on HDMI control, Viera Link, while also incorporating an SDHC card slot for viewing movies and pictures.
Thanks to the AVCHD standard developed by Sony and Panasonic in tandem, this slot is capable of playing footage recorded in 1080i resolution on an HD camera.
Other features on the new screens include three HDMI slots, one now handily placed on the front of the screen with the latest games consoles in mind. And sound isn’t neglected either, thanks to the V-Audio Surround Sound speakers.
Pricing and exact availability haven't yet been confirmed, but we're lined up to get test models as soon as they're available. Watch this space....
