There's a new flagship Blu-ray player on the way, the BD-P2500 (shown), which is an upgrade on the previous models with an HQV processor, a 7.1 channel output and support for Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. It's also BD-Live ready and will be priced at the more affordable end of the market (the US price is $500).
Other highlights include a range of 200Hz LCD TVs (40, 46 and 52in), "the world's slimmest 52in LCD TV" (according to Samsung) which is just one inch thick, an 82in Quadruple Full High Definition (QFHD) TV and two OLED TVs – in 14in and 31in sizes – based on Samsung SDI's OLED panel.
There are also new Series 7, 8 and 9 flatscreen TVs, the 9 Series employing LED backlighting technology to compete with similar systems from Sony and Philips.
