It features a new 20mm-thick acrylic chassis, a 28mm-deep, precision machined GS-PMMA acrylic platter, a high-mass motor damping base and a new aluminium arm base.
The Emotion SE also incorporates Clearaudio's patented Ceramic Magnetic Bearing technology. The main bearing shaft is machined from ceramic alloy, allowing a finer polished surface than that previously obtainable in turntable bearings, the company claims.
As the bearing doesn't use a ball bearing or thrust pad of any kind, it avoids any point of load and so eliminates bearing friction, wear and noise, says Clearaudio.
The separate motor is isolated from the chassis and drives the platter using a Clearaudio joint-less, silicon-based "silent belt" at speeds of 33 1/3 and 45 rpm.
A Satisfy Carbon Directwire tone arm is fitted as standard, and completing the package is Clearaudio's Aurum Beta-S Wood cartridge.
Clearaudio will sell you the new Emotion SE for £1790 including a three-year guarantee.
