CES NEWS: LG Philips LCD shows its best-ever flexible flatscreen display
Due to be shown at next week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, this is the brand-new flexible display from LG Philips LCD.
The A4-size. or 14.3in, display uses thin film transistors on a plastic substrate, meaning it can be rolled up for carrying and then flattened out for viewing, and has a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, theoretically making it HD ready!
The main application is as E-paper, allowing books and other images to be shown: the display can resolve 16.7 million colours, only uses power when the image changes, and is just 0.3mm thick. It offers a 180-degree viewing angle, allowing images to be viewed perfectly even when it's curved.
