Black Friday 2024 headphone deal predictions

We've received a deluge of incredible pairs of headphones throughout 2024 and so obviously we'll be hoping at least some of them will receive (very) generous Black Friday discounts in Australia this year.

We can make a very logical assumption that premium sets of over-ear headphones that have continued to impress this year, including the Sony WH-1000XM5, Bose QuietComfort Ultra and Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless will all get a Black Friday discount...predominantly because they've become accustomed to discounts of various amounts throughout the year. Let's hope the Black Friday weekend is when we'll see the biggest discounts of them all.

Of course, we'll be keeping a particularly close eye on prices of our 2024 What Hi-Fi? Award winners, both the best wireless headphones and best wired headphones. It's true that some pairs in these lists can already feasibly be called affordable, but nobody is going to say no to a discount. We strongly suggest you put the Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 on your radar as any discount on the British hi-fi brand's excellent set of wireless in-ear headphones will no doubt see them sell like hot cakes.

It's not always those who crave convenience that get spoilt during Black Friday either, and so we'll also be keeping our eyes peeled for Black Friday deals on wired headphones that are more suited to home listening sessions. Oh, and we'll also be checking in on prices of some of our favourite headphone amplifiers and DACs to help you extract the very best from your new Black Friday headphone purchases.

Black Friday headphone deals 2024 FAQ

When will the best Black Friday headphone deals in Australia start in 2024?

Black Friday officially begins on Friday 29th November this year, but it's not uncommon for some retailers to begin dropping deals up to a week earlier. This isn't guaranteed of course, but using previous Black Friday deals weekends as examples, it's a pretty safe bet. Deals will run through until Monday 2nd December, otherwise known as Cyber Monday. They may continue for a few days after this date.

Where are the best places to find Black Friday headphone deals in Australia?

Other than this dedicated guide, you'll likely find some of the best Black Friday headphone deals in physical stores such as JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys, along with speciality hi-fi and AV retailers around Australia. Online stores usually have the best deals though, with hundreds of dollars usually knocked off the cost of some pairs of over-ear and in-ear headphones.

In our experience, you can count on the following retailers for Black Friday headphone bargains:

• Amazon: comprehensive selection of headphones with free shipping perks
• JB Hi-Fi: latest pairs of headphones from the biggest brands
• The Good Guys: wired and true wireless pairs catering to all budgets
• eBay: a wide selection of headphones with coupon codes for eBay Plus subscribers

Max is a staff writer for What Hi-Fi?'s sister site, TechRadar, in Australia. But being the wonderful English guy he is, he helps out with content across a number of Future sites, including What Hi-Fi?. It wouldn't be his first exposure to the world of all things hi-fi and home cinema, as his first role in technology journalism was with What Hi-Fi? in the UK. Clearly he pined to return after making the move to Australia and the team have welcomed him back with arms wide open.
