Dutch Grand Prix: preview

Will it be third time lucky for Lando Norris at the Dutch Grand Prix? The McLaren man is on pole for today's race at Zandvoort, but he's started from the front of the grid twice before this season – and it went badly on both occasions.

Norris knows full well that he's in the spotlight, and the fear for McLaren is that he overthinks it and history repeats itself. Attempting to block off Max Verstappen, who starts from 2nd, could leave the path clear for Oscar Piastri, who starts from 3rd.

Verstappen has led the past three Dutch GPs from gun to tape, but he was given a real trouncing by Norris in Qualifying. 0.356 seconds separated the two drivers, and there's growing concern within Red Bull that the Dutchman's winless streak could yet stretch to five races.

George Russell and Sergio Perez complete the front five, with Lewis Hamilton way back in 11th. Things had got pretty bonkers before the summer shutdown, and here's hoping the F1 action picks up right where it left off.
