Austrian Grand Prix schedule 2024

  • Grand Prix – Sunday, 30th June | 2pm BST / 9am ET

Austrian Grand Prix: preview

Having come to the Red Bull Ring with high hopes, it’s been a frustrating weekend so far for Lando Norris, who was pipped to pole by Max Verstappen... who also went fastest in Sprint Qualifying and the Sprint itself. That victory has extended his championship lead to 71 points, and if the McLaren man is going to hunt him down, he needs to get on with it. The Austrian Grand Prix starts at 2pm BST / 9am ET.

He’s struggled in the rain at recent races, but the forecast might open up a route to victory at the Austrian Grand Prix. The storm clouds have gathered in the skies above Spielberg, but when will they burst?

Norris has finished in the top two at five of the last six races, winning once, but he really should have three or four F1 victories under his belt. In that spell he’s consistently been the fastest man on track, but he's blinked at crucial moments, whereas Verstappen has driven perfect races.

Oscar Piastri surpassed him in yesterday’s Sprint, and George Russell, starting from third, will sense an opportunity, especially considering Norris' disastrous start last week.
