We can't promise how it performs or looks, because we've only seen these press pictures, but if you've got £60 you don't mind gambling, you may fancy a flutter on this cut-price portable from Computer Supermarket. Compsuper-1

Its last budget MP4 player sold out before we could publish a less-than-flattering review of its usability , but Computer Supermarket claims this new "Pimp" model (Pimp being the cheeky character on the player's rear) has an improved interface, as well as a larger (2in) screen.

The Pimp MP4 player is just 5mm thick, but its 4GB memory can pack in hours of music and video entertainment. There's also an FM radio, voice recorder and a photo-album feature. Connecting cables, headphones and a power charge are included.

It's available in a selection of six fruity colours: mulberry, raisin, kiwi, blueberry, tangerine and cherry. Computer Supermarket promises a solar back-pack option to follow, too.
