About me

I discovered the wonder of listening to music other than through a tinny radio when I was about 12. My brother had bought a stereo player (Van Der Molen OK not hi-fi but a step up from the transistor radio we had non the less) and a pair of headphones that were as big as strapping a pair of cusions to your ears which I was under pain of death if I touched. Naturally I was intrigued and I remember putting on his new Pink Floyds Meddle (B side Echoes) at two in the morning whlst he slept in the bed next to me, covering the lid of the player with a pillow so the noise coming from the stylus didnt wake him. I was mesmerised hearing things that just werent there when listening through a radio and that was it, I was hooked on HI-FI and now have well over 1000LPs and CDs. My Hi-Fi now stands at.... Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista CD3 . Musical Fidelity A5 Integated Amp. Linn Sondek I bought over 15 years ago, Sony TKA6ES Cassette Deck.. Early Sony D777ES DAB Tuner. Mission 753 Freedoms. Home Cineema...... Yamaha DSPA1. Sony S 725D DVD. Hitachi C36 WF810N TV. Mission 75C Centre. Mission 77 Rears. Rel Strata lll 800+ DVDs regions 1 & 2. As you can see some of the equipment especially the home cinema will soon need updating if I am to take advantage of the High Definition era that is now upon us. First will be the TV followed quickly by the DVD player. Musically i will listen to most things except rap, thrash or punk. Film wise anything if im in the mood as long as it sweeps me up and emerses me into the world the film wants to portray. If its a good story told well then ill watch it, but of course to appreciate a good surround sound system nothing beats a bit of crash bang thank you maaam! Of course I have favourites but they are far too many to mention but here are two anyway, for an oldy i would say Pekinpahs The Wild Bunch and for a new kid on the block Zak Snyders 300.
