Any information about the arrival of the upcoming 2008 Pioneer receiver range to these shores folks?

I've just got a 4280XD and I've heard mention of a potential rival to the Onkyo 606 the VSX-1018TXH-K banded about after its debut in CES 2008. Although only 3 HDMI inputs, the identical MSRP of $599 is appealing, especially given potential Kuro HDMI interfacing and its undeniably better looks.

Although mainly on American sites, a June release date was mentioned. I'm getting pretty itchy feet with this new Onkyo in the offing but (as is I guess typical) will always be prepared to wait if there's more definite news regarding a release schedule.

There's a big Pioneer launch towards the end of May (23rd, if I remember rightly), when we expect to hear about the new-generation TVs, and hopefully receivers and Blu-ray players, too - we'll keep you posted.

Just over two weeks, seems more than reasonable. Would be good to hear about all things Pioneer, new profile blu-ray player offerings sound particularly intriguing. On a personal note (as a recent 4280 purchaser!), I'm hoping the last 100% Pioneer screens reflect what we've seen so far this year with other manufacturers and are merely an evolutionary rather than revolutionary step forward.

Has anyone had any news on the new range of Pio receivers?

Had a close look at some Onks today wasn't too impressed by their look or build (although sounded good) so would like to see how the competition is shaping up.

Following on from our discussion on the sony receivers thread Clare (apologies for any unintentional forum rules infringements btw) I thought I'd better repost this in a more appropriate thread.

Do you think you'll look at the VSX-LX51 or are you heading for the VSX-LX71 and above with that spangly PQLS shenanigans? For me they're probably over my budget - I'm heading down the way of a Onkyo 805 at £499 at the moment.

I'm really waiting on news of the LX71 amp. I believe it's called the SC-LX71 rather than VSX. Either way, I've not heard anything about it in a long time. Any updates?

The Pioneer SC-LX71 is the baby SC-LX90 (aka Susano; Pioneer's £5000 AV amp, reviewed in current issue). There's also an LX81; both use ICEpower digital amplification. Pricing's from around £1500.

We're scheduled to get one of them in the next week or so, although Pioneer hasn't confirmed which model yet.
