The Missing Link Cables - more like The Missing Service!

Just had the most atrocious experience in 25 years of buying hi-fi. Ordered about £400 of cables from the Missing Link and 2 months & 3 phonecalls later nothing at all - eventually had to give up. They just didn't seem to care - it was the same monotonous voice saying "sorry - they'll be with you in a week" and then nothing at all.

Anyway, a (so-called) friend had recommended these as being pretty decent cables but if you can't get hold of them, what's the use? More than that what regard do the Missing Link have for their customers? I would rather spend a bit more with Nordost or Russ Andrews than be messed about like this.

Hello what a bad experience!!

I would suggest you brush up on the distance selling regs - try www.adviceguide.org.uk for starters and/or consumer direct. I hope you also paid by credit card as there will be a joint liability for goods over £100 (single item. I think off the top of my head section 75 of the consumer credit act applies. That should put the wind up them!

I think Missing link is a main delaer for cable talk cables which have a great reputation going back years and years!  I am shocked to read the post and hope everything end well.

Hi There..

just had your post brought to my attention...very sorry to hear you are so distressed at our service.

Being human we are by no means perfect in our customer and business dealings but we do always try to offer a good and efficient service in a friendly and helpful manner and with a cheerful telephone voice. You must have been very unlucky to have been ignored over a period of months.

Sometimes it is difficult to keep track of all requests for trial cables  as we can't always accommodate all requirements for a specific time...but we do always try our best to communicate well regards both trial cables and in particular, order requests.

As I don't know your identity I am unable to check any information we may have regards your request ..But I'm sure you are aware we do not take any payments until an order is ready to post.

This is the first negative comment that has been brought to our attention in over 5 years so it is obviously a very important issue to us. If you wish to contact us again I promise to give you our usual friendly and very personal service...If, as I suspect, you have already purchased alternative products...then I hope that all is satisfactory.

If there is anything further we can do please do not hesitate to contact us, we aim to please.

best regards...jan

Holy cow! Unlucky?? So it's a matter of luck whether somebody gets their order or not? Do you spin the dice every time or what? Poor show, missing link, and a very strange excuse.
