Re: i-pod earphones

Well for starters ditch the awful Apple-supplied ones and buy a pair of Sennheiser CX300s, since they'll make music louder anyway by fitting in your ears properly and cutting outside noise. Then google for "ipod volume limit" - this is an issue for european ipods and can be resolved with some hacking or (allegedly) mucking about with volume of tracks in iTunes (the latter may be apocryphal, since I've heard of it not working).

Don't worry baby I'm safe and sound.

Re: i-pod earphones

agree about getting some decent `phones. To increase volume in I-tunes first highlight all your music, then right click, choose get info, there is an option for volume control, set it at about +50% as any more seems to distort.I-tunes will then process all the tracks and next time you sync volume should go louder.Any new music you add will have to be adjusted as well as the default setting is none. Also when you update I-tunes you will have to do this again as it seems to reset to none

Good choice but beware that there are a lot of fakes on E-bay,if it sounds too good to be true it normally is,were they from Hong Kong?

Re: i-pod earphones

I bought a pair of these Senns for my daughter and they are excellent. I may buy a pair for myself to replace the Sony ones that came with my new Walkman phone.

Re: i-pod earphones

Im after some iPod earphones for my Samsung Y2-P2 Indifferent

My main point for posting in this thread, i just wanted to know if anyone has ever used a portable headphone amplifier. Im  interested to know if I would get extra dynamics? Im only talking about minimal layout though, ive seen some about for £180 + I find that a bit extreme for a portable player.

So, anyone got opinions on them?

Good luck murgord, I hope they are the legit product, let us know how they sound please. Im tempted to get the CX300's myself.

Re: i-pod earphones

May I suggest the following portable headphone amp available on ebay-(Portable Headphone Amplifier CMOY amp Headamp).  I use this with all my headphones and the difference it makes has got to be heard. The cost of the amp is about £29.99 and £6.75 postage from Riga, Latvia,it should take between 10-14 days to arrive but is really worth the wait.

Thanks mahler, just what I was hoping to hear. the price range is exactly what I had in mind, and after your conclusion about the overall improvement i'll be purchasing one of those units. Cheers Yes

Re: i-pod earphones

The one I had before the Mcoy, was the HeadRoom Total AirHead which was not a bad amp, only problem was that if you increased the volume to much it would distort the sound but with the Mcoy I only need to have the volume half way and that is more than enough to fill my Grado60s and my Alessandro MS1, plus any of  the other earphones I use, the Mcoy(for the money) has got to be one of the best investments to use with any portable player. Hope this helps.
