Hi all,

Space is of a premium and I'm considering getting the Sony DG820 AV receiver but using it with my current hifi (Onkyo CS-525).

Can I do this? Is it even worth it???

Thought I would be able to use the Sony with my PS3 for movies and stick with my stereo for music, plus if I want to upgrade to full surround sound later I can.

What do you think???

In order to do this you will need an av receiver with pre-outs, which the DG820 doesn't have.

Saying that I don't think the difference in the sound quality of the onkyo and the sony will be huge, but personally I would definately spend more now on a receiver with pre-outs for future potential.
