A lot of the best Sauvigon Blancs seem to be coming from New Zealand, Chile and Argentina at the moment.

I don't really know enough about wine to have a favourite, so I just buy whatever gets a half decent review.

As far as beer goes, myself and a few mates quite like going into the local Bierkeller place and trying out various things from their menu. Or just letting the barstaff pick something for us. They usually pick something nice apart from one evening where we ended up with Strawberry beer. Staff found it amusing though!

My spirit of choice would be Morgans, with coke.

The missus usually has St.Helier cider in the fridge, and when there's nowt else I'll drink that. It's actually very nice, but it wouldn't be very blokey to order pear cider in a pub Smile

Stella as a daily drink (well not daily but you know what I mean) but I will switch to Duvel  if I don't want a hangover  Drank 11 bottles in Cannes once and woke up fresh as a daisy.
(amazing stuff)

If anyone sees Marston's Owd Rodger about let me know... its great......if a little potent.

Merrydown cider as a nice sunny day drink to be replaced ,if I'm being good, by Kopperberg (all flavours) as its only 5% ish.

Vodka as a nice refreshing change when bloated on beer or at the end of the night. Mix with anything not fizzy unless its the good stuff which goes down neat and slowly from the freezer.

A bit of a girl on the wine front...Gavi Di Gavi or a good Chablis on the white front and a Barrollo if red. Will drink anything after the second/third bottle though.

If any mentalists out there fancy getting shedded then please feel free to partake of K cider and Barley Wine (or similar) snakebites. Went to a barbie and passed out before the sausages were done on four pints of it !! I was 30 yrs old and should've known better ...empty stomach etcEmbarrassed

Theakston's Old Peculiar or Old Tom for ales.
Premier Cru, plain 1664 or Grolsch for lagers.
Classic Martini (Bombay Sapphire Gin + Martini & Rossi Vermouth) or a G+T (Bombay Sapphire and Schweppes Tonic).

Orkney Dark Island, a pint most breweries would happily kill to have IMO. Dark and subtle; completely unlike me! Ho-de-ho...

A question for the 1664 Cognoscenti (No. I'm not sure I've spelt it right either).

Dynamo system. Good? Bad? No difference?

Personally I think it's a tad smoother, like Premier Cru, but missing the fuller flavour of the Cru. I'd take Premier Cru over regular 1664 every time, but I'm not sure about the Dynamo. If it was offered or on special at the store I'd take it, but it's on a par with regular 1664 for overall enjoyment IMO.
