edit: What about Buddy Holly?"

I just love the rock & roll. Respect to Buddy Holly for being one of the first to embrace it, though personally, I like my music a tad faster; adding a touch of drama and dynamic. Elvis not the only one, but god, he is good. There's so much good music out there from a few decades back. In fact it's all thanks to the music business being not very creative over the last decade, that prompted me to look back and discover many classics!

Re: 10 artists you couldn't bear to lose...

Nick Cave

Sonic Youth

Joy Division

Clash

Leonard Cohen

Tom Waits

Dead Kennedys

Pink Floyd

Sex Pistols

Nirvana (even if they're not cool anymore)

I know there's no-one terribly exotic on this list but I liked most of them before they  became rich and famous (or just famous) (or just a bit well-known).

Except for Cohen and Waits - I'm not that old; this old hippy at work gave me some of their cds in a secret Santa (even though he knew I liked punk!).

And Pink Floyd -  some older surfie mates used to play them in their car all the time when I was young
