Lintone Audio, Gateshead

I've just received an Arcam CD192 from these guys, after being pointed in their direction by the good folk of the WHF forums.

I had a bit of an email conversation with them about it, and they always answered promptly (practically instantly) and courteously. When I decided to buy, and called up to pay, the chap on the other end of the phone was extremely pleasant and efficient. The item was very, very (very) competitively priced. It arrived when they said it would, and they didn't overcharge for delivery.

I guess in theory it was a fairly simple transaction, and would be easy to take for granted, but my dealings with other AV e-tailers (and e-tailers in general) prove that you should take nothing for granted! Some seem to go out of their way to make things more difficult. Many struggle to answer an email, they often charge ridiculous sums for carriage, and I've had more than a few items fail to appear when promised. So, it was refreshing that Lintone were so straightforward to deal with.

Getting good service and good pricing is a rare combination these days, and something I very much appreciate. I sincerely hope I can give them some more business in future!

Highly recommended! Yes

Another definite thumbs up from me as well ...I bought my first bit of kit there in about 1977 (!) and have been back numerous times since ....they really know their stuff (esp high end stereo)

I do feel rather guilty though that my last few purchases have been at Richer sounds in Newcastle as gear such as my Onkyo 875 wasn't available at Lintone .....their range of used products always includes some very keenly priced gems.

Hi,

Just bought 5 M1's from them - very courteous and although I walked in without an appointment a demo was given.

Was in the area visiting friends and got a good price (I think) for them. Locally would have cost me over £100 more.

Cheers,

I'd also like to compliment Lintone Audio on their service too. Just bought my Musical Fidelity XRay8 w/Triple X PSU for £500 and am very happy. They responded to my general email questions very quickly and they delivered exactly when they said they would. Excellent.

Just wish they had a bargain on the Musical Fidelity A5 int amp or Primare I30 now...

Hi,

Exactly how I felt - luckily (for my credit card) the voice of reason hit me square on the head...(voice of reason = Mrs C).

Re: Lintone Audio, Gateshead

HI,

I was wandering the Metro Centre and popped into the store. My original reason was to show the 'boss' what the speakers looked like 'in the flesh'. Ended up walking out with them the next morning.

Re: Lintone Audio, Gateshead

Have dealt with them by phone and in store at the Gateshead shop - worth a visit whilst up from Manchester visiting relatives nearby. . . . Forget the name of the guy who served me but he was really helpful - and didnt mind me palming round the fantasy hifi kit whilst actually buying something much more modest!
