Hbo-On-Itunes

Good news for American Apple TV fans, as shows such as The Sopranos, Sex and The City, Rome and The Wire have appeared on the iTunes Store in the US.

HBO, the channel in charge of the content in question, have settled their differences with Apple and are now offering episodes at either $1.99 or $2.99 depending on the show.

Not only does this mean more new content on the iTunes Store – we naturally hope we will see similar developments in the UK – but it signals Apple has softened its pricing policy.

Previously all shows on Apple had gone out at $1.99, but with HBO seemingly adamant that The Sopranos and Rome should be more expensive at $2.99, it seems Apple has eventually changed its mind.

No doubt the realisation that Apple TV will only truly succeed if there is the best content available has swayed Apple on this one. Let's hope for new content of this standard in the UK...
