Marantz Sr7002

Marantz is to replace its SR7001 receiver with the feature-packed SR7002 – boasting full HD audio support plus two HDMI outputs, allowing users with both TV and projector to cut down on cable-switching capers.

The THX Select-II certified receiver offers 7.1 channels of sound – at a mighty 110 watts per channel – with support for the Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, and DTS Master Audio decoding formats offered by Blu-ray and HD DVD discs. It has four HDMI 1.3a-compliant inputs and those twin outputs.

More details of this featured-packed new £1000 receiver are on their way, along with a full test....

it would be nice if you could compare the SrR 7002 in your full test to the Onkyo and the Yamaha.

Also the difference in stereo would be of major interest to me.

Good to see change on the receiver front . 2 outputs

for the hdmi. The Onkyo 905 has 2  . Early days yet !  I would expect more to have 2 outputs for the modern man Lets face it we need them.

We need a high end test in 08 ..Dennon, Pioneer, onkyo, yamaha, marantz., and Others

Please cover input routing on the 7002.  I have heard that you can only select from 4 video inputs in total.  As an example, if you had 4 hdmi devices connected, and wanted to add another device, you would need to add it as component.  If you then wanted to watch it you would need to make sure that the hdmi device was off, as hdmi trumps component.  Is this correct?

Why are there no tests published on any Boston speakers (especially VR series)?
