Philips Sru8015Philips has expanded its Prestigo range of universal remote controls with the launch of the SRU8015, designed for ease of use while still retaining the ability to 'drive' up to 15 devices.

Selling for just under £100, the new model has a 2.5in colour screen, a control wheel and white backlighting of the keys, and uses an advanced set-up wizard to simplify initial settings.

Other user-friendly features include a line of shortcut keys across the top of the keypad, offering Favourites, Home and More functions.

Favourites allows up to 100 channel icons to be accessed, from a library of 400, to avoid the need to key in channel numbers, while More takes the user deeper into control functionality and Home gives an icon-based depiction of the devices the handset can control.

Other functions can be learned from existing handsets, and users can customise functions and devices with their own text labels.
