CEDIA NEWS: Marantz backs Blu-ray with $2000 player, due in 2008

Marantz is backing Blu-ray with the unveiling of its first high-definition player, the $2100 BD8002.

Scheduled for launch in the US during the first quarter of 2008, the BD80002 features the 10-bit Silicon Optix Realta chipset, high-definiton audio decoding and DDSC-HD audio output.

Also new from Marantz is the $10,000 VP-15SI high-definition DLP projector with Konica Minolta Optics, Gennum processing, HDMI 1.3 inputs with Deep Color capability and Full HD 1080p resolution.
