When will LCD or LED ever overcome the thorn in its side of eliminating smearing, ghosting or Jaggie edges in fast moving sports scenes? In Standard definition boradcasts especilly? My 25yr old CRT handles motion perfectly from Cable television to DVD's as a source. Wake up Manufacturers Technology is no what it has been made out to be.
"I WANT QUALITY & QUANTITY" Unfortuntely one of those is missing and has been for some time.

another huge agreement from me to! i went along to my local sony shop and they had the 4000 & 4500 side by side playing a bbc wildlife bluray, the 100hz & motionflow IMO makes a huge difference to screen judder & noise. its a defo shortlister for sure guys n gals.

Well having purchased the W4500 recently i cannot agree more with the reviews on here that it is an jaw breaking TV set!
Freeview (SD) picture is stunning and full of life - and the more i look at it the more i love the TV - i bought it on a package with the S350 + 5y warranty for £1099.99 and the wedding between the two is amazing - watching a living post card. Well worth it IMO.

Having paired this with the BDP-S350, I'm regularly catching my jaw from dropping on the floor. Absolutely incredible clarity and depth of colour from both BD and DVD media. If you gun for this screen you will not be disappointed.

Sorry....meant it is more expensive....
Actually it's not more expensive than the 40W4000 since this is now available for much less than GBP1290....

what kind of setting did you guys have on the 40w4500?
kev g September 23, 2008 12:12
Well, after reading such a great review I hope there will be a 32" version
The KDL-40V4000 may have a lower spec than the W series model, but it's top value and delivers fantastic pictures for the money
There are a lot of extremely impressive 37-40in sets available, but this is the one with the real 'wow' factor
