I have used the Corus black. Your review pretty much sums up the Corus sound in general. Except I would say the treble is bright as you mention but can also veer towards harshness. The bass is maybe a hair "wooly" but the midrange is glorious. Especially with jazz instruments- saxophone and trumpet, female voices also. Very spacious and natural. It has the best midrange of any MM I've used, if not for the slight treble harshness this cartridge would be very hard to beat anywhere near its price. It is only in direct comparison to some other cartridges that I noticed the Corus' main weakness, taken on its own it stands up very well. One other thing was it is not as quiet in the groove as some others I've used. It bonds very well with Rega arms and as you mention easy to install. This Goldring variant is still a winner and should be a top consideration for Rega P3/P5 owners along with Regas own Exact cartridge.
