Panasonic is the best thing to happen to tiny TVs in ages. For starters, its specs are one of the best we've seen, from the two HDMIs to support for 1080/24fps signals from Blu-ray.
Turn the TV on and the clear menus guide you through the simple set-up. Like many sets this size, it’s a computer monitor at heart, so it has a 1680 x 1050 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio – it avoids stretching the picture by producing slightly bigger black bars at the top and bottom.
The Panasonic upscales images extremely well, producing Freeview and DVD pictures with excellent stability and a natural colour palette. The ’LXD8 is also well suited to high-definiiton movies and games, thanks to great motion and edge definition.
Throw in audio that’s clearer than you’d expect at this size, and you’ve got the ideal bedroom or kitchen TV.
