In the tech specs, when it says Transport (no) and DAC (no), we mean this player is not made up of a separate transport and DAC (ie:two separate boxes), but rather is an integrated player (yes). Not that it doesn't have a DAC.

I auditioned it with others double it's price and I won't mentioned names and I liked the sound & looks so I bought it. Sounds great at home with the Yamaha AX1050 amp and the AR4 speakers. I like bit of base so switch amp to direct and I switch on the M&K 75 and disturb the neighbours....well not really as it is clean good sound. Happy days.

I agree with real.africa
I am trying to find a good set of speakers to partner my yamaha dsp-ax763 and every time
I look on this site I get confused they will
not say which is best just more waffle
so come on get it together what hi fi
and I also am not inpressed about the way
you do not tell readers about marantz
that you cannott order on the web or by phone
you have to pick it up in the shop [localy]
talk about shooting yourself in the foot
I can not get a marantz cd 6002 in my area
but have found one up north but cannott get it
delivered so will be getting a different model
like nad or cambridge cd player and not marantz
thats one sale less and in the days of the credit crunch not a good move.

Your review says, "Under the new exterior it's progression rather than revolution, with the CD5003 using the same audio circuit and DAC as the outgoing '5001,....."
But your tech Specs say it has no DAC.
I got here searching for a "DVD-Audio Player". There is no mention of DVD-Audio here.
C'mon get you act together. I really want to believe in your opinion and recommendations, but with an act like this why should I?

Looks good -it would of been good if they compared it soundwise to the marantz cd6002.

Wow, i am new to this forum, but this looks like a great amp for the money. My CD63 (RIP) has just passed away, looks like this might be my replacement. Anyone got any idea when it will hit the shops?
The NAD fights its corner convincingly: robust build, disciplined soundstage and stunning levels of depths. But it needs to learn to cut loose occasionally
