The iPod Touch is now even harder to resist thanks to a boost in capacity and performance - it's a real charmer

  • For

Massive capacity, even better audio and video

  • Against

    Nothing

The iPod Touch was an uber-desirable machine even before Apple announced the arrival of a third-generation model, complete with a bumped-up 64GB of storage.

And, in storage land, bigger is undoubtedly better. This means more space for uncompressed tunes, games, apps and other multimedia goodness.

The inclusion of a faster processor also means that the slickest multimedia player on the planet is now even slicker, with wi-fi-based web browsing quicker than ever.

Bass boost is welcome
Sonically, this is a small step up from old model too, with greater emphasis on vocals and a subtle bass boost.

Video playback is very good – the new model has a slightly cooler tint than before, but this doesn't affect the extremely watchable picture.

Considering your getting twice the capacity for virtually the same price as the second-gen machine, this has to be considered a bit of a bargain.
