It's not exactly an earth-shattering surprise, but Quantum of Solace has become the UK's biggest-selling DVD and Blu-ray release of 2009 – so far.
On its first day of release on Monday (March 23rd), Quantum of Solace sold 522,926 units on DVD and Blu-ray combined. Around 10 per cent of those sales were on Blu-ray.
"Bond remains one of the world's largest and most successful film franchises of all time," says Anders Kloster, managing director UK, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Just been told that around 10% of QoS sales (ie around 50,000) were on Blu-ray, the rest on DVD.

I've asked 20th Century Fox for a breakdown of the Blu-ray:DVD split. Waiting for a reply.

Not only Tesco doing some good deals, had the blueray from Morrisons for £15.

Has this anything to do with Tesco selling the two disc special edition DVD for £7. Other retailer's were pushing it out for £15. Is there any figures as to the actual ratio of DVD to Blu-ray sales? I still find it hard to justify £20+ for a Blu-ray when you can get the DVD for an awful lot less. I have a Panasonic DB50 and find the quality of the upscaled images and sound excellent. I know people will come back with the quality of picture and sound issues but the price of Blu-ray discs is still to far removed from what most people are prepared to pay.
